First, and absolutely foremost, I want to thank every single person who followed my twitter account. I honestly have to say it was a blast talking with all of you, and doing whatever we could do to help Donald Trump get elected. Before you read on, please know I’m 100% genuine, I thank everyone so much.
Some of you may have noticed a considerable absence from tweets sent from @trumpwallnow. There’s a reason for this, and it’s going to make, I’d guess almost all of you pretty unhappy. The truth is, I was a HUGE Trump supporter ever since he hinted at running in 2012. I honestly thought he was going to shake things up, drain the swamp, and truly Make America Great Again.
Before I go too far, I’m going to go on a tiny bit of a rant on my political “views” background. I was a long time conservative and registered as a Republican. Sometime in the last 5 years I realized that the Republican party and I didn’t see eye to eye on quite a number of issues, but I didn’t see eye to eye on even more issues with the Democrats. It didn’t take me long to realize that you don’t HAVE to associate with either party. It was then I become a non-affiliated voter. Though I have ended up voting mostly for conservatives, I feel like leaving the party really helped me see issues for what they are, and not see issues as a “conservative” or a “liberal”. I honestly wish more people from both sides of the aisle would do the same. The constant war between both sides does nothing for the good of this great country of ours. The biggest takeaway I want people to get from this is, no one is forcing you to be anything. You are not required to a Democrat or a Republican, think for yourself.
Now back to Trump. I wish I could tell you I think he’s doing an amazing job. I wish I could say I was proud to have supported him, and voted for him. The fact is however, this isn’t true. I loved the passion he had on the campaign trail. I loved the fact that he wasn’t politically correct. But I had also hoped, once elected, he’d become a bit more presidential. Cut down on the tweets, and work to bring America together. I didn’t expect him to completely change his personality, but I did want him to become more presidential. This hasn’t happened, and I’d wager the country is even more divided than it was before he took office. This is not making America great again. Now, some of you who are still reading this love the fact he’s stirring things up, and pissing off liberals. But let me ask you, what good does that do? Aren’t we all Americans? Democrats, republicans, independents, conservatives, liberals. Just because you don’t agree with someone on the other side of the aisle doesn’t mean they’re less of an American than you are. The fact is, both sides want America to be great, we all just have different ideas of what that means.
I do hope I’m proven wrong by the way. I hope he turns it around. I’m not rooting against him like the liberals so obviously are. I’m rooting for Trump because he is the President of the United States of America. But as of right now, I can not feel right about writing an article or sending a tweet that is Pro-Trump while his administration is doing what it’s doing. This is not the Donald Trump I voted for.
In closing, I really do mean what I said at the beginning of this article. I do appreciate everyone who was along for the ride, and I hope at least some of you will understand where I’m coming from.
